• Diabetes under attack in Darebin
  Darebin City Council has resolved to investigate several different strategies in the fight against obesity and Type 2 Diabetes.
• Draft Budget for 2012/13 Approved
  Darebin City Council has approved a Proposed Budget that will continue to provide essential programs and services while delivering on Council’s promises to the community and remaining fiscally responsible.
• Residential hard waste collection 2012
  Darebin City Council’s new annual hard waste collection will take place from 21 May to 29 June 2012 across Darebin.
• Darebin Racism Inquiry
  Strong support for cultural diversity within the community is a highlight of a Darebin Council report into racism within Darebin.
• Darebin Intercultural Soccer Tournament
  Darebin Council is calling on players to participate in an intercultural soccer tournament, scheduled to take place on 2 June 2012.
• International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) 2012
  Darebin Council will celebrate International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO) with art installations and entertainment on High Street Northcote, and a community forum at Northcote Town Hall on 17 May 2012. The community forum will help develop Darebin’s first ever Action Plan on Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex and Queer (GLBTIQ) issues.

  Darebin City Council’s Decibels Records program is looking for two upcoming local bands or solo artists aged 12 – 25 to work with throughout 2012
• Launch of Darebin Housing Strategy website
  Darebin City Council is set to launch a new website in the next step towards completing the Darebin Housing Strategy.
